Abstract

One of the main lacks of the empirical studies about strategic configurations has been omitting the fit between its variables. Consequently, a key factor of the concept of strategic configuration is underestimated. This factor is usually considered as the essential explicative factor of the organizational performance. Within this research line two typologies are underlined, because of their diffusion, the Porter (1985, 1980) typology and the Miles and Snow (1978) typology. In this paper, we present two methodologies, both specific for each typology. These methodologies possess their typology’s specific characteristics, among them the particular fit type.
