Internacionalización de las PYMES en Costa Rica

Abstract

El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el proceso de internacionalización de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYMES) en Costa Rica. El fin último es generar una reflexión que permita mejorar la información para la toma de decisiones de los múltiples interesados en el proceso: empresas, gobierno, entes de apoyo y academia. Para ello, se revisa la situación actual de dicho sector empresarial, se contrasta los patrones de internacionalización señalados en la teoría con los experimentados en las empresas costarricenses; se indaga sobre los determinantes del desempeño en estas empresas y se valora el sistema de apoyo para dicho conjunto de empresas.
