Management Education in India as Economy Differentiator

Abstract

India is likely to become the third largest economy of the world in a couple of decades from now as per a study by Goldmann Sachs. But the higher education scene of the country is of concern. Fortunately, management education in our country has been attracting attention and is poised to play a stellar role in shaping the economic destiny of the country. The largest network of B-schools we have today need to produce not just managers but those who are capable of meeting any business challenge in a globally competitive environment. Thus, the stakeholders have the onerous responsibility of contributing their mite to the management education to make a positive difference to the economy of the country. This paper highlights the issues relevant to achieving this objective.
