Abstract

This study examines the extent to which business schools worldwide are integrating Corporate Governance Education (CGE) into their curricula and presents pedagogical suggestions for curriculum design of CGE. A study of 90 academic syllabi from courses taught at Business or Law Schools located throughout the world provides evidence regarding: (1) the scope and nature of CGE; (2) educational approaches to CGE; (3) corporate governance topics that could be taught as part of CGE; and (4) methods of coverage of CGE. In general, the content of courses was linked to the corporate culture of the country in which the school was located. The CGE issues addressed in this study should help business and law schools design curricula to prepare students for the challenges awaiting them in the area of emerging global corporate governance.
