Abstract

The research identifies how micro and small enterprises of temporary accommodation services in Cuernavaca, Jiutepec and Tepoztlan, use financial information generated in their daily transactions, for decision making. We wish to discover reasons that cause micro and small enterprises to close or suspend commercial activity. Decision making is a key element for the survival of enterprises. Decisions are based on qualitative and quantitative information. One of the most important findings of this research is that financial information is not used by micro and small enterprises for decision making. Hotels should train their employees in accounting and finances to consider all relevant pieces of information in defining the future of their organizations
