Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the paper industry in Mexico. We highlight innovation oriented towards the environment preservation inside a leading firm in the sector. This is a qualitative study of technological innovation within one of the biggest firms in the Mexican paper industry. This company was selected for its evolution and growth in national and global markets. Information was collected by interviewing managers and top executives. The business areas analyzed are production and distribution. Moreover, we examine the innovation made by these departments. The achievements accomplished by the company are presented. We particularly note innovation of their processes and compliance with Mexican and international environmental norms. These norms preserve the rivers, lakes, air and forests
