Berufliche Weiterbildung für arbeitslose Jungakademiker

Abstract

"Angesichts der zunehmenden Zahl von arbeitslosen Jungakademikern kommt der beruflichen Weiterbildung für diesen Personenkreis als Strategie zum Abbau von Arbeitslosigkeit wachsende Bedeutung zu. Derzeit werden jährlich etwa 6000 arbeitslose Jungakademiker über die Bundesanstalt für Arbeit weitergebildet. Eine Analyse der Daten über diesen Personenkreis brachte u.a. folgende Ergebnisse: - Jeweils ein gutes Viertel (26%) sind Ingenieure und Lehrer, ein weiteres Sechstel (16%) Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftler. - Ein Viertel aller Weiterbildungen erfolgt derzeit im Bereich der elektronischen Datenverarbeitung. An zweiter und dritter Stelle folgen Weiterbildungsziele im Bereich der Fachrichtungen 'Ingenieure' (17%) und 'Bürofachkräfte' (11%). - Knapp die Hälfte (46%) der erfolgreichen Teilnehmer konnte unmittelbar nach Abschluß der Weiterbildung eine Arbeit aufnehmen. Am höchsten ist dieser Prozentsatz bei Lehrern, die sich zu Warenkaufleuten umschulen ließen (68%), am niedrigsten bei sozialpflegerischen Berufen und Elektroingenieuren, die sich innerhalb ihrer Fachrichtung fortbildeten sowie bei Lehrern, die eine Umschulung in den Gesundheitsberufen (Masseure, Krankengymnasten etc.) absolvierten (jeweils 35%)."
