Abstract

Der Beitrag stellt die Kurzfassung einer Dissertation dar, die mit dem Forschungspreis der Bundesanstalt für Arbeit ausgezeichnet und in der Reihe "Beiträge zur Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung" 8bd. 84) veröffentlicht wurde. Es werden im wesentlichen folgende Aspekte untersucht: "1. Regionale Verteilung der Arbeitslosigkeit (Niveau-Aspekt) und ihre Veränderung über die Zeit; 2. Auswirkungen des steigenden bzw- anhaltend hohen Arbeitslosen-Niveaus auf die regionale Struktur der Arbeitslosigkeit, insbesondere auf regionalen Arbeitsmärkten mit hoher Arbeitslosigkeit (Struktur-Aspekt); 3. Ursachen regional unterschiedlicher Arbeitslosen-Niveaus in Abhängigkeit von spezifischen Merkmalen der regionalen Wirtschaftsstruktur. Abschließend werden auf der Grundlage der empirischen Befunde Implikationen für die Arbeitsmarkt- und Beschäftigungspolitik diskutiert. Im Vordergrund steht dabei die Würdigung der Forderung nach einer verstärkten Regionalisierung der Arbeitsmarktpolitik." (IAB2)
