Ausländische Jugendliche in Ausbildung und Beruf : aus der Untersuchung des IAB "Jugendliche beim Übergang vom Bildungs- in das Beschäftigungssystem"

Abstract

"Selbst wenn ausländische Jugendliche den Hauptschulabschluß erreichen, haben sie größere Schwierigkeiten einen Ausbildungsplatz zu finden, als deutsche Hauptschulabsolventen. Dies zeigen Daten aus der IAB-Längsschnittuntersuchung 'Jugendliche beim Übergang vom Bildungs- in das Beschäftigungssystem', in der auch ausländische Schulabgänger aus Haupt-, Real- und Sonderschulen (Entlaßjahrgang 1977) zu ihrem weiteren Ausbildungs- bzw. Berufsweg bis Ende 1980 befragt wurden. Zusätzlich sind folgende Ergebnisse hervorzuheben: ++ Gut die Hälfte (55%) dieser ausländischen Schulabgänger hat bis Ende 1980 eine betriebliche Berufsausbildung aufgenommen (deutsche Jugendliche: 71%). ... ++ Ausländische Jungen haben in der Industrie, ausländische Mädchen dagegen im Handwerk überdurchschnittliche Chancen, einen Ausbildungsplatz zu finden. ... ++ Nach Abschluß der betrieblichen Berufsausbildung waren ausländische Jugendliche mehr als doppelt so häufig arbeitslos bzw. im Haushalt der Eltern (= erwerbslos) wie deutsche Jugendliche (9% zu 4%)."
