Abstract

The credit supply oriented to micro and small enterprises in Perú is very limited. This is because the high risk of these business. As a consequence the interest rates that these institutions pay are really high, that high to limit their potential to grow and develop. For that reason it’s necessary to promote new innovative financing alternatives to satisfy the credit demand of this sector. One of the alternatives to achieve this goal, which has proved to be successful in some other countries, is the Venture Capital Funds. These funds take financial resources from investors to enterprises with promising perspectives of growth. The investors are willing to assume the risk in order to gain an expected profitability. To support all this system an appropriate regulatory framework is needed.
