Evoluţia internaţională a incidenţei riscurilor catastrofale

Abstract

În ultimii 20 de ani, a existat o creştere semnificativă în frecvenţa şi impactul evenimentelor de tip catastrofă, ceea ce a generat preocupări la nivel de industrie mondială a asigurărilor. Pierderile importante (atât materiale cât şi umane) au fost în atenţia publicului determinând acţiuni guvernamentale pentru acoperirea acestora, mai ales în cazul în care daunele nu erau asigurate/asigurabile. Cutremure, incendii, alunecări de teren sau inundaţii – toate au înregistrat un impact financiar, social, economic şi politic în regiunile afectate. Prezentul articol analizează experienţa ultimelor evenimente de tip catastrofa (atât asigurate cât şi neasigurate) pentru a ilustra lipsa unor mecanisme operaţionale sau a unor soluţii inovatoare care să răspundă unui astfel de tip de expunere.
