Inclusão financeira e inadimplência bancária: Assimetria das respostas em crises

Abstract

Este artigo analisou se as instituições financeiras promovem ou não a inclusão financeira. As hipóteses consideram a existência do efeito crowding-out e do aumento da inadimplência. A Teoria de Pressão Ascendentes de Preços foi considerada ao adaptar o procedimento de Berry (1994) para obter as elasticidades-preço da demanda e as taxas de desvio. Além do mais, um VAR estrutural foi estimado para avaliar o efeito da inadimplência sobre as elasticidades. Dos resultados, verifica-se que a existência do efeito crowding-out está presente parcialmente entre os bancos públicos e bancos privados, pois as cooperativas de crédito expandem empréstimos bancários em momentos adversos.
