La gestione della prima fase pandemica da SARS-CoV-2 nelle case per anziani in Canton Ticino

Abstract

Le strutture residenziali per anziani nella primissima fase della pandemia della SARS-CoV-2 sono rimaste in una "zona d?ombra". Le priorita iniziali delle istituzioni di politica sanitaria si sono focalizzate sul tracciamento dei contagiati e sul potenziamento delle terapie intensive in ospedale. Viste le caratteristiche epidemiologiche, si e pero ben presto capito che le case per anziani sono un elemento cruciale da tutelare. Questo articolo identifica le ragioni della vulnerabilita di queste strutture in relazione alla risposta pandemica e descrive le risposte di sistema e manageriali adottate in Canton Ticino. Le conclusioni sono dedicate alle possibili strategie di "convivenza" con il virus e alle misure organizzative utili per fronteggiare eventuali onde epidemiche successive.
