La variazione geografica dei tassi di ospedalizzazione nelle piccole aree: il caso di Bolzano

Abstract

La provincia di Bolzano rappresenta una piccola realta territoriale italiana, caratterizzata da un?alta ospedalizzazione, sebbene in riduzione nel corso degli ultimi anni. Gli autori hanno posto l?attenzione sulla misurazione della variazione geografica dei tassi di ospedalizzazione all?interno della provincia per una serie di procedure elettive, quali la tonsillectomia, la sostituzione di anca, la sostituzione di ginocchio, lo stripping di vene e l?artroscopia al ginocchio, con l?obiettivo di verificare la presenza di variazione ingiustificata tra i comprensori provinciali, attraverso il calcolo della componente sistematica di variazione (SCV). Gli autori sottolineano come la misura della variazione non sia importante solo ai fini descrittivi, ma anche di decisioni a livello di governance, poiche la riduzione della variazione ha impatto anche in termini di risorse e di costi.
