Come stanno cambiando le economie regionali. Un confronto tra Veneto, Piemonte, e Puglia

Abstract

In questo studio vengono confrontate le dinamiche recenti di tre economie regionali: Piemonte, Veneto e Puglia. In passato queste regioni hanno rappresentato situazioni emblematiche di tre modelli di sviluppo diversi: il Piemonte nella parte industrialmente pi? evoluta del Paese (la "prima" Italia); il Veneto della "terza" Italia; la Puglia che si affrancava dall?arretratezza industriale del Mezzogiorno (la "seconda" Italia) per alimentare la cosiddetta "via adriatica allo sviluppo". L?analisi delle fonti statistiche disponibili ha portato a individuare significativi cambiamenti nelle economie delle tre regioni, che possono essere riassunti in cinque punti essenziali: la contrazione delle attivit? manifatturiere e lo sviluppo dei servizi alle imprese, in particolare di quelli ad alto contenuto di conoscenza; i processi di crescita aziendale e il diffondersi di assetti diversi dal modello familistico; le differenze settoriali della natalit? aziendale e l?emergere di nuove forme creazione di impresa; il coinvolgimento delle imprese nei processi di innovazione; la ricerca, da parte delle imprese, di economie esterne oltre i confini dei distretti industriali. Lungo queste direttrici generali di evoluzione le tre regioni si collocano in posizioni diverse e il quadro che emerge ? profondamente cambiato rispetto a quello che avevamo conosciuto in passato.
