Abstract

Aggregazioni bancarie e flussi di credito alle imprese in Liguria (di Enrico Beretta Silvia Del Prete) - ABSTRACT: Partendo dall'assunto teorico che la crescita delle dimensioni medie delle banche, conseguente ai processi di aggregazione, possa influire sulla propensione degli intermediari coinvolti a finanziare imprese di piccola dimensione, il lavoro intende testare la sussistenza di una tale relazione con riferimento al mercato creditizio ligure. Le evidenze disponibili per il periodo 1990-2002 indicano che le banche acquisite da altri intermediari tendono, negli anni successivi all'operazione, a contenere l'ammontare di finanziamenti destinati alle PMI regionali. Nelle fusioni gli effetti di riduzione del credito sono generalmente temporanei e meno robusti. Tuttavia, analisi pi? complete, che tengano in considerazione la reazione di banche nuove entranti sul mercato regionale e di quelle che nel periodo analizzato non sono state n? acquisite n? incorporate, paiono mostrare un effetto compensativo sul finanziamento delle PMI.
