Abstract

Note: [English Title] Clustering Tendencies of the Industry in Ankara According To Capacity Reports [English Abstract] Various assessment methods are utilized in order to determine sector clustering in a region and aggregation potential. The applicability of the methods and the results obtained are discussed; typically surveys are the preferred data collection method for this kind of study. Accordingly, the samples planned for the survey and the structures of the companies taking part in the study present us with variations in the results. This study utilizes data provided by the capacity report statistics published by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey in order to determine sector clustering tendencies in Ankara during 2012 and 2013. Nace Rev. 2 coding system has been used for sector classification while sectors, location quotients and the three star method were referred to in order to gauge aggregation tendencies, taking technological levels into account. [English Keywords] Clustering, location quotients, 3-star method, Ankara.
