Economics foundations of the participation of Minas South in the construction of the Brazilian State among the years 1822-1840 ? This article intends to analyze the economic foundations of the south-economic elite politics participation when the Brazilian National State was being constituted, between the decades of 20 and 40 of the XIX century. It presumes that the several levels of social life do not identify themselves, although they have a mutual influence on each other. The politic process that it took part of had been based on an economic system marked by the production of the goods that were directed for the unity productions supplying and the various commercial places, overall, in Rio de Janeiro. In fighting for the social and political order, its desire was also to guarantee the conditions for the reproduction of the socio-economic situation, the source of its power and status.
