Heterogeneidade estrutural, composição setorial e tamanho de empresa nos anos 1990
AbstractThe paper aims to add information on the increase of structural heterogeneity in the Brazilian industry. Using data from the Industrial Annual Survey, the paper concludes that: (i) there is an increase in the structural heterogeneity of the Brazilian industry, if one analyzes the increase in productivity at the sectoral level and by firm size; (ii) differences in productivity growth seem to be a consequence of a modernization effort undertaken by leading Brazilian companies; (iii) there is an increase of the proportion of workers in low productivity (stagnant) sectors.
