Algunas extensiones dinámicas del modelo de ordenamiento espacial de von Thünen (1826)

Abstract

Este artículo introduce una evolución dinámica con una caída brusca del costo de transporte, al mode-lo estacionario y monotónico de von Thünen (1826). Explorando diferentes escenarios por medio de simulaciones numéricas, revela una falta de robustez del modelo en el largo plazo, la que se expresa en la aparición de rentabilidades negativas para algunos centros de producción ubicados lejos de los de consumo. Las simulaciones, que suponen un centro de consumo o dos, predicen la coexistencia de ga-nadores y perdedores cuando la localización es conducida por la mano invisible de adam Smith (sin regulación). además, muestran que la etapa de transición hacia el estado estacionario no es monotónica, lo cual abre oportunidades para explorar dicha etapa y su relación con las complejidades del desarrollo espacial de las economías.
