¿Existe un vínculo entre la Inclusión y el Alfabetismo Financiero de mujeres? Evidencia desde México

Abstract

Este artículo estudia el impacto del alfabetismo financiero sobre la inclusión financiera en mujeres del municipio de Zacatelco, Tlaxcala. Utilizando métodos de emparejamiento de datos se obtiene que las mujeres que se ubican a una desviación estándar por encima de la media del nivel de alfabetismo financiero tienen mayor probabilidad de tener una cuenta de banco. De igual modo se encuentra que el conocimiento y el comportamiento financiero aumentan la probabilidad de tener una cuenta de banco. no se encuentra un efecto individual para la actitud financiera. Sin embargo, se encuentra que, al interactuar el conocimiento o el comportamiento con la actitud financiera, los efectos posi-tivos del alfabetismo financiero desaparecen. Estos resultados ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de que la educación financiera se haga con un enfoque integral que enseñe conocimientos y cambie compor-tamientos y actitudes financieras.
