Efectos dinámicos de impulsos de la oferta y la demanda agregada, y la productividad sobre la demanda laboral: el caso de Puerto Rico

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza la respuesta de la demanda del empleo ante impulsos de oferta y demanda agregada y productividad mediante el esquema de identificación estructural propuesto por Blanchard y Quah (1989). para esto, se analiza el caso de la economía de puerto rico. De acuerdo con los resultados, la respuesta de la demanda laboral ante impulsos de productividad es mayor en el corto plazo que ante impulsos de la oferta y demanda agregada. no obstante, los impulsos de demanda explican una mayor proporción de las fluctuaciones no esperadas en el empleo que los de oferta en el largo plazo, y pueden llegar a tener una persistencia de hasta 10 años
