Control de la corrupción, capital humano y crecimiento económico: un modelo dinámico de datos en panel

Abstract

Este trabajo evalúa los efectos del control de la corrupción, el capital humano y otras variables clave en el crecimiento del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) per cápita de 15 naciones con un índice similar de desarrollo humano ajustado por desigualdad, entre ellas México, durante el periodo 2002-2017. Para ello, se recurre a un modelo dinámico de datos en panel, el cual constituye una ampliación del modelo de crecimiento de Mankiw et al. (1992). El modelo se estima mediante el Método Generalizado de Momentos en la modalidad del estimador Arellano-Bond. La evidencia empírica es consistente con la hipótesis de que, para poder estimular el crecimiento del pib per cápita, el combate a la corrupción debe complementarse con el mejoramiento en otras dimensiones de la gobernanza y con una mayor inversión en capital humano, en investigación y desarrollo, y en capital físico.
