De voedingsdistributie in West-Europa. een combinatie van globale voordelen en lokale aanpassingen

Abstract

De structuur van de voedingsdistributie is in de laatste decennia grondig gewijzigd. Aan de hand van ACNielsen gegevens wordt de evolutie van het belang van de verschillende winkeltypes in de voedingsdistributie geïllustreerd in West- Europa en worden ook de verschillen tussen de landen aangegeven. Niettegenstaande de opkomende globalisering en concentratie van de distributie, blijft het distributie-vakgebied lokaal, en kunnen internationale formaten en formules slechts geïmplementeerd worden met lokale aanpassingen. Aan de hand van enkele cijfervoorbeelden wordt aangetoond hoe verschillend consumenten zijn in de diverse West-Europese landen inzake aankopen van voedingsprodukten.
