Abstract

O debate teórico da hospitalidade sob a premissa da dádiva de Marcel Mauss se apresenta como base epistemológica deste artigo. O presente trabalho objetiva analisar a relação das trocas humanas na hospitalidade mineira contemporânea na percepção dos turistas. O entendimento do acolhimento na mineiridade contemporânea, especificamente em Ouro Preto (MG), se faz presente por meio de uma pesquisa quali-quantitativa com turistas em uma amostragem aleatória e não probabilística. Conclui-se que tais elementos se encontram interligados, já que os mineiros possuem algumas características de acolhimento que lhe atribuem o título de população afável e hospitaleira, independente dos problemas inerentes a incipiência da profissionalização do mercado da hospitalidade.
