El Turismo Y Las Redes Territoriales En Ciudades De Pueblos Originarios. El Caso De Oaxaca, Mã‰Xico

Abstract

El artículo toma a las ciudades de los Valles centrales de Oaxaca, México, como marco de referencia, y el propósito del mismo es analizar la importancia del desarrollo de las ciudades para la dinámica del turismo, visualizada a través de la relación territorial existente entre la centralidad urbana y la centralidad turística durante 2000-2010. El análisis realizado muestra que durante este periodo, la centralidad urbana de las ciudades de los Valles Centrales de Oaxaca no necesariamente dio pie a una mayor centralidad turística de las ciudades, y por consiguiente, a una mayor dinámica del turismo en las mismas. El artículo toma en cuenta la teoría de redes y la correlación estadística como las herramientas metodológicas para realizar el análisis correspondiente. Propone que una futura política territorial en estas ciudades debe vincular intencionalmente el desarrollo urbano con el turismo para lograr una gestión estratégica efectiva del desarrollo territorial.
