Abstract

Este trabalho analisa a temática do património cultural existente em museus, bem como a relação com o turismo e com o desenvolvimento local dos territórios. O património cultural é aquele património que congrega em si só, e atualmente, uma grande diversidade de elementos/aspetos como são exemplos objetos, bens, edifícios, estruturas, artes, histórias entre outros. Esta reflexão conta com duas partes principais. A componente mais teórica conta com a definição de património cultural e de museus, tal como a relação com o turismo e o desenvolvimento local. Já a componente prática está ligada às caraterísticas e impactos de patrimónios culturais existentes em 4 museus do Funchal. Esta área geográfica possui bons recursos e produtos sustentáveis para uma procura mais ou menos especializada. Foi prudente propor medidas de colmatar determinadas falhas dos museus escolhidos, bem como de dinamizar mais e melhor os mesmos.
