Abstract

Debido a la necesidad del hombre de expandir sus horizontes, implementó medios de transportación, que les sirvieran para movilizarse y comercializar con otros pueblos. La cuenca del Guayas no fue la excepción, donde sus antiguos pobladores transformaron elementos hasta convertirlos en las balsas que maravillaron a los españoles al momento de su llegada a estas tierras. En actualidad, estas embarcaciones, que por mucho tiempo fueron el medio más utilizado para sustentar económicamente a los pobladores, han quedado en el olvido por lo que la inserción de actividades turísticas busca potencializarlas.
