Abstract

La presente revisión no solo es un intento crítico por discutir el libro Interaction, and moblity: language and the body motion, sino además un argumento en contra de la tesis de la movilidad planteada por John Urry décadas atrás. Desde nuestra perspectiva, consideramos que la sociedad moderna lejos de ser móvil, traza circuitos geográficos específicos sin generar un movimiento genuino. Los viajes modernos son por naturaleza circulares pues siempre parten del mismo punto. En consecuencia, nuestra movilidad es en realidad un cambio constante de instituciones circundantes. Si en la antigüedad, el cuerpo se movía porque las instituciones que lo contenían se mantenían estables, en la actualidad el cuerpo se mantiene inmóvil a la vez que las instituciones se reciclan en un eterno pastiche.
