Formación Universitaria Y Cientificidad Del Turismo

Abstract

El artículo hace un análisis de la limitante existente en la formación universitaria en turismo en cuanto a la formación teórica que ofrece, porque aunque se imparten clases acerca de la historia del turismo no se enseña la evolución del pensamiento turístico. Se señala la ausencia de aspectos epistemológicos o filosóficos en los planes de estudio de las carreras universitarias en turismo y las posibles causas de esta situación, y como esto limita el desarrollo del pensamiento teórico acerca del turismo, y por tanto su desarrollo científico. Critica la formación ofertada como instrumental, pues privilegia el saber hacer por encima de la creación de un pensamiento crítico. El artículo propone incluir los estudios sobre teoría del turismo en la formación universitaria como condición necesaria para que los futuros profesionales puedan desarrollar un turismo adecuado a las exigencias del mundo actual.
