Abstract

El interés reciente en el estudio de la dimensión económica del turismo requiere un acercamiento de fondo a los aspectos socioculturales de las localidades con vocación para desarrollar esta actividad. Este trabajo esta orientado a vincular la teoría del desarrollo local con la perspectiva turística, en aras de dilucidar el papel de turismo y su contribución al desarrollo local y regional. Para lograr este objetivo se aplica el concepto de sistema productivo local a la actividad turística en el municipio Mayarí de la provincia de Holguín, Cuba.
