Metodología Para La Determinación Del Rumbo Estratégico De Entidades Hoteleras

Abstract

El desarrollo económico alcanzado en el siglo XX se ha caracterizado por el crecimiento del sector terciario de la economía. A partir de los años cincuenta el turismo se incrementó a nivel mundial de forma ininterrumpida, favorecido en una primera etapa por el florecimiento económico posbélico, y luego por la modernización de los medios de transporte y de las comunicaciones en general. A inicios de la década de los 90 Cuba se ve obligada a redefinir su estrategia de desarrollo, planteándose la necesidad de explotar aquellos sectores capaces de generar con rapidez divisas frescas, que sirvan de base al sostenimiento inmediato y desarrollo ulterior de toda la economía. Según datos de la Oficina Nacional de Estadísticas, con la creación del Ministerio del Turismo (MINTUR) en 1994, y la Ley de Inversiones Extranjeras (No. 77 de 1995) se incrementan las asociaciones con capital extranjero y se crean las empresas e instituciones que realizan las actividades relacionadas con la prestación del servicio de alojamiento, comercio minorista, gastronomía, transporte, recreación y otros servicios relacionados con la actividad, conformando las cadenas turísticas, que incluyen empresas mixtas y contratos de asociación económica internacional.
