Abstract

El turismo es una actividad económica de gran magnitud y uno de los sectores más importantes y dinámicos a nivel mundial, en gran medida responsable del crecimiento económico. Actualmente el sector está viviendo una etapa de crecimiento sostenido y aunque existen otros sectores que comparativamente han aumentado de forma notable su peso económico, el turismo puede considerarse como una actividad crecientemente demandada que tiene una representatividad importante en la actividad de múltiples regiones y países: así lo ratifican los datos disponibles en relación con diversos indicadores (número de desplazamientos, ingresos por balanza de pagos, evolución de pernoctaciones, etc.).
