Identificación Del Geopatrimonio Para La Construcción Del Geoparque Huasteca Potosina

Abstract

El presente trabajo forma parte de los esfuerzos realizados para el desarrollo del expediente de aspiración del Proyecto Geoparque Huasteca Potosina con el objetivo de ser presentado para evaluación ante la UNESCO. A través del documento el lector podrá conocer más sobre el programa de Geoparques Mundiales, sus antecedentes y principales características, además de entender el porqué de su relevancia. Al ser el Geoparque un programa orientado a la valoración geológica del territorio, la identificación del patrimonio geológico o geopatrimonio representa uno de los elementos primordiales para todos aquellos que pretendan acceder a la evaluación de sus propuestas; es por eso que este trabajo pretende aportar una visión, de manera general, sobre los pasos que se siguieron para la identificación y valoración de los treinta y tres geositios que, desde el punto de vista del equipo científico de la propuesta, contaban con las características necesarias para ser incluidos en el expediente.
