Abstract

El grupo de los adolescentes constituye un campo de estudio sumamente importante, porque representa la edad en que se inicia la vida sexual activa. La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) define a la adolescencia como la etapa comprendida entre los diez y los diecinueve años. El 10% de los nacimientos anualmente en el mundo son de madres adolescentes, en México es un tema prioritario de salud sexual y reproductiva. La población de adolescentes embarazadas se ha vuelto un problema de salud. México ocupa el primer lugar de embarazo en adolescentes en toda América Latina”1 por lo que el riesgo de presentar depresión es muy alto, considerando además que la depresión es catalogada como la enfermedad del siglo XXI según la OMS.
