Tipos de arquitectura habitacional de la Huasteca Potosina en la primera mitad del siglo XX

Abstract

El presente trabajo constituye un acercamiento a la arquitectura habitacional de cinco poblaciones de la huasteca potosina: Aquismón, Ciudad Valles, Tamasopo, Tamuín y Xilitla, a través de un enfoque descriptivo y de observación participativa se proponen cuatro tipos de vivienda: vernácula, industrializada, estilo californiano y variable. Se observa adecuación de las poblaciones locales al medio ambiente mediante la implementación de materiales de la región y sistemas constructivos tradicionales, en los que la palma, la madera, arcillas y piedra como materiales base, se complementan en algunos casos con materiales industrializados y lenguaje arquitectónico internacional tropical izado en la región para dar forma a la vivienda en la huasteca potosina.
