Abstract

El Municipio de Villa de Zaragoza, S.L.P. se ubica a 44.6 Km. de la Capital del Estado y cuenta con poco más de 26,200 habitantes (INEGI, s.f.). En este Municipio es en donde se encuentra una pequeña empresa familiar denominada “Artesanías San Antonio”, en la cual el proceso de preparación del henequén para su conformación como una fibra útil que posea la consistencia adecuada para elaborar diversos productos artesanales se realiza con maquinaria rudimentaria y con pocas condiciones de seguridad. Por ser una empresa artesanal, en todos los procesos interviene la fuerza humana y los recursos materiales y económicos con los que cuentan estos artesanos son sumamente limitados; además un 80 % son trabajadores de la tercera edad y los procesos requieren la aplicación de mucho esfuerzo. A través de la observación de sus procesos, toma de tiempos y movimientos, así como entrevistas adecuadamente elaboradas se ha propuesto un sencillo rediseño del telar artesanal, este rediseño debe resultar en una reducción en el esfuerzo requerido por el artesano, lo que se deberá traducir en una mejora de la productividad.
