Planta de totora en humedal artificial de flujo subsuperficial

Abstract

Actualmente es importante optimizar el uso del agua, por ello, es de vital importancia que una vez utilizada sea tratada para su reutilización. Existen distintos procesos convencionales para el tratamiento de las aguas residuales para lograr retirar contaminantes y llegar incluso a la potabilización de esta. Los humedales son tecnologías verdes que utilizan energía natural que no causa contaminación, son ampliamente utilizadas a nivel internacional, lo que dio lugar a realizar la presente investigación en la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo carrera de Ingeniería Civil, en Ecuador. El principal objetivo de nuestra investigación fue determinar el comportamiento de las plantas de totora (Schoenoplectus californicus) durante el proceso de tratamiento de las aguas servidas, dentro de un humedal artificial.
