Antecedentes de la reivindicación del territorio indígena: el caso del pueblo indígena XI´IUY, México

Abstract

El pueblo indígena “Xi´iuy†, también llamado “Pame†, pertenece a la estirpe de los pueblos chichimecas, que habitaron Aridoamérica y la frontera de la Huasteca Potosina desde antes de la conquista española. Se estudiará el trayecto de la lucha por el territorio de los pobladores de la hoy llamada Nueva Palma. Desde el siglo XVI hasta el año 2016, han trascurrido casi cinco siglos en que los colonizadores primero y más tarde, el propio Estado mexicano, han cometido abuso, explotación, negligencia e injusticia, en contra del pueblo “Xi´iuy†. Este estudio abarca hasta el mayor triunfo jurídico alcanzado por este pueblo originario.
