La intervención del trabajador social en el área de salud mental en el programa del ministerio de salud pública del Ecuador

Abstract

La finalidad de la investigación fue describir los roles que cumple el Trabajador Social en el área de salud mental en el programa del Ministerio de Salud Pública del Ecuador, los métodos que posibilitaron su desarrollo fueron el bibliográfico, inductivo –deductivo y analítico con enfoque descriptivo. Se revisaron varios estudios y fuentes referentes al tema. Se puede determinar mediante los resultados que el Trabajador Social cumple un rol muy importante en el programa de salud mental del ministerio de salud pública en el Ecuador, identificando las necesidades y problemáticas sociales que afectan la salud de las personas, interviniendo desde en nivel individual, grupal, familiar y comunitario, forma parte de un equipo interdisciplinario y trabaja en la promoción, prevención, recuperación, rehabilitación y reinserción social del paciente en su contexto familiar y social, de acuerdo a la política pública existente con su respectivo Plan Estratégico de Salud Mental y el Modelo de atención correspondiente.
