Inteligencia emocional de los padres y su influencia en el desarrollo emocional de sus hijos

Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo por objetivo evaluar la relación entre la inteligencia emocional de un grupo de padres y su influencia en el desarrollo emocional de sus hijos, en una muestra de 30 niños de 8 a 12 años de edad del Centro Evangelístico de Portoviejo-Ecuador. El tipo de investigación fue de carácter no experimental, de naturaleza cuantitativa, descriptiva y correlacional. Para medir la Inteligencia Emocional de los padres se ha utilizado el test de Bar-On (1997) y para los niños entre 8 a 12 años su versión adaptada BarOn ICE: NA. Ambos evalúan las aptitudes emocionales de la personalidad, mediante el manejo de cinco dimensiones que son: escala intrapersonal, escala interpersonal, escala de adaptabilidad, escala de manejo de estrés y escala de estado de ánimo general, como determinantes para alcanzar el éxito general y mantener una salud emocional positiva. Los resultados obtenidos nos refieren que existe una relación significativa baja entre los cocientes emocionales de padres e hijos.
