La salud pública y el manejo de quemaduras en urgencias en el marco de la sociedad del conocimiento y la información

Abstract

Las quemaduras son un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial, que afecta con mayor gravedad a las poblaciones vulnerables de los países en vías de desarrollo. Este trauma o lesión tisular, producida por la transferencia de energía de un cuerpo a otro, puede afectar en forma severa la calidad de vida del paciente y su familia, con alto riesgo de morbi-mortalidad, si no se aplica en forma oportuna y eficiente un tratamiento de emergencia para la reanimación o resucitación del paciente, por parte del equipo médico y paramédico, asignados en cada caso.
