Abstract

El trabajo aborda brevemente la creación de la Sociedad Cultural José Martí en 1995, organización que tiene el objetivo fundamental de promover el estudio de la obra martiana. La primera filial fundada fuera de la capital fue en Cienfuegos en 1997. el artículo se análisis sobre el uso de las tecnologías de la información entre 1999-2000 por parte de la Filial cienfueguera para la promoción de la historia de la nación cubana, de sus luchas por alcanzar la plena independencia en sus diferentes etapas, de los valores éticos, políticos y culturales del pensamiento cubano como contribución al fomento de una cultura general en la sociedad y a la defensa de la identidad.
