Efectividad de la terapia láser en los trastornos de la articulación temporomandibular

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio de intervención longitudinal con una muestra de 20 pacientes que acudieron a la consulta de láser perteneciente a la Clínica Estomatológica Héroes de Bolivia en el periodo comprendido 2018 a 2019, con el objetivo de evaluar la efectividad del láser como terapia en los trastornos de la articulación temporomandibular (ATM). Se aplicó laserterapia con una frecuencia diaria en algunos casos o días alternos según la severidad de la enfermedad, se evaluó la efectividad de 14 a 21 días. En este estudio la edad promedio de los pacientes estuvo entre los mayores de 51 años de edad, siendo el sexo masculino el más afectado. Se observó una disminución de los síntomas en un período de 10 días. No se registraron reacciones adversas.
