(Graded) readers: how to use them

Abstract

Atualmente, a língua inglesa, mais que nunca, tem recebido um grande prestígio e importância, pela sua forma de unir pessoas de diversas nações, culturas. Logo, muitas pessoas, de formas formais e informais, têm buscado aprender esta língua. Uma das formas eficientes para este aprendizado é através da leitura. Neste trabalho, três pessoas leram um capítulo do livro The Dead’s Man Island, resolveram dois diferentes exercícios e depois foram entrevistadas, através de um questionário, composto por quatro questões. Este trabalho teve como base Hervot e Norte (1997), onde podemos aprender sobre o processo de leitura em segunda língua e também em Silva (2015), onde podemos encontrar informações sobre como o uso de readers em sala de aula de ensino de idiomas, neste caso, o Inglês, pode ser fascinante. Após leitura, exercícios, questionários, podemos observar com os resultados o que os alunos de língua inglesa do século XIX pensam sobre a leitura e o uso de readers em sala de aula.
