Abstract

La cultura geográfica como proceso, constituye una dimensión de la cultura general integral que debe caracterizar a los estudiantes de la carrera Licenciatura en Educación, Geografía, dadas las urgencias socioeconómicas y culturales que demandan la nueva época de la sociedad del conocimiento, donde se impone una cultura geográfica que permita la asunción de hábitos, capacidades y normas de relación con el mundo, orientadas hacia la protección del medio ambiente, por lo cual en el presente trabajo se ofrecen algunas consideraciones teóricas sobre la necesidad social de asumir una cultura geográfica que permita la formación ambiental de los estudiantes de la carrera Licenciatura en Educación Geografía, de manera que se inserten en los actuales escenarios de competencia para asumir conductas responsables frente a las problemáticas medioambientales acaecidas en los últimos años.
