Gestão aplicada à agricultura familiar: análise do potencial de desenvolvimento regional a partir da produção de hortaliças, na comunidade Nossa Senhora de Nazaré do Limão de Baixo, em Parintins – AM

Abstract

De acordo com o Censo Rural (2006/2007) realizado pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística – IBGE, a agricultura familiar apresenta números significativos acerca de sua participação na economia do Estado do Amazonas, onde 91% dos 67.955 estabelecimentos rurais no território são voltados para esta atividade. Mesmo assim ela continua sendo estereotipada como um setor atrasado nos aspectos econômicos, tecnológicos e sociais. Na tentativa de contribuir para a mudança desse panorama, este trabalho busca descrever a agricultura familiar em uma comunidade rural do município de Parintins3 e demonstrar o potencial de desenvolvimento regional a partir da produção de hortaliças, baseadas na utilização de técnicas de gestão pelos agricultores familiares do local.
