A corrida pelo el DSorado na Amazônia e a saga dos Povos da Floresta

Abstract

O Estado do Acre, sul da Amazônia brasileira, terra que já abundou a seringueira, matéria prima fundamental na fabricação da borracha, foi atrativo para milhares de pessoas que vieram principalmente do Nordeste brasileiro, final do sec. XIX e meados do sec. XX, em busca de trabalho e dinheiro fácil. Neste estudo, abordaremos a história de duas famílias descendentes de nordestinos residentes no Estado: do Sr. Divaldo Alves de Souza e da Sra. Guiomar Medeiro Marques. A situação destas famílias era das mais difíceis devido ao árduo trabalho, o perigo com animais selvagens, doenças típicas da região, e o isolamento dentro dos seringais. Neste estudo adotamos a abordagem fenomenológica, por contemplar as percepções, as subjetividades, emoções e afetividades. A principal técnica adotada foi a da fonte oral.
