Cangaço: um movimento social

Abstract

O cangaço se caracterizou por ter sido um movimento social armado, contextualizado por disputas políticas, por terras e de lutas pela honra. Este movimento, teve como área de abrangência a região semiárida do nordeste brasileiro. Onde viveu e até hoje vive uma população sofrida e humilhada pelas elites que governam o país. Assim, a inercia do governo ante a miséria e a desigualdade social que afligiam a população desta região, no período compreendido entre o final do Segundo Império e a década de 1930, foram o estopim deste movimento.
