Sustentabilidad y autogestión viajan en bicicleta

Abstract

La bicicleta es un invento moderno que no ha perdido vigencia en la época contemporánea. En el presente siglo, se ha reposicionado como un símbolo de sustentabilidad y se han estimulado diversas investigaciones en esa línea. Este artículo relaciona los conceptos de gestión, sustentabilidad y cicloturismo, fenómeno que puede limitarse al goce recreativo, deportivo, paisajístico, o entenderse como un medio para establecer interrelaciones solidarias con la otredad. En un contexto actual donde la modernidad capitalista dicta sus lógicas y el viaje turístico se torna un fenómeno de consumo, el objetivo del artículo es proponer conceptualmente al cicloturismo como una alternativa al turismo convencional y una plataforma para la puesta en práctica de dos conceptos paradigmáticos de la contemporaneidad: autogestión y sustentabilidad.
